Adopt-a-School

Partners in education

What is Adopt-A-School?

The Adopt-A-School program, sponsored by Chandler-Brownsboro Area Chamber of Commerce and Brownsboro Independent School District, fosters a partnership between businesses, agencies and organizations and the public schools. Adoptions are “tailor-made” to suit each business and school, depending on the company’s resources and the school’s needs.

What is the purpose?

The Adopt-A-School program fosters a better understanding of the Brownsboro public schools, enhances numerous programs and most of all, makes a big difference in the overall educational process.

The AAS program is not designed for just financial support and neither party in the adoption is the sole beneficiary. The student reap benefits when a business or group makes a commitment to their education, while the adopter receives a strong sense of satisfaction knowing that they are helping tomorrow’s work force. The adopters derive a great deal of public relations in the community through the work they do at a particular school.

By becoming partners in education, a business or group can make a difference through:

  • Mentoring students one-on-one or in small groups
  • Becoming a pen pal to one or more students
  • Helping with science, math, physical education, or history fairs
  • Talking to students about specific careers
  • Sponsoring after-school projects, field trips or contests
  • Recognizing outstanding students or staff
  • Donating equipment and/or supplies

Who can participate in the Program?

  • Large Companies: Banks, manufacturing plants, utility companies, retail stores, restaurants, etc.
  • Small Companies: Real estate agencies, printing firms, medical practices, legal associations, building firms, design firms, retail stores, etc.
  • Government Agencies: Mayor’s offices, fire departments, sheriff and police departments, district attorney’s office, post offices, military groups, etc.
